Hi Eric,

Really enjoyed your recent post discussing fever. So heartening that someone (you) is looking at these things more broadly and with nuance. Quick story: Night before I was to travel from Katmandu to New Delhi in 2022, by symptoms, I realized I’d likely just contracted Covid (confirmed later by test). I felt I couldn’t not travel, so I strategically suppressed my fever w low dose Tylenol, double masked and got on the plane. Made it to the hotel, Tylenol had worn off, so I doubled up on soft clothing including a stocking cap, extra blankets and went to bed encouraging the fever to run while I slept. Woke up the next morning in a soup of sweaty wet clothes and sheets but felt perfectly normal. I’d successfully burned the virus out of me. I was understandably tired that day (my body had worked hard!) but I was asymptomatic of Covid. Also tested negative at day five. Lastly, my husband, one of the most fit 70 yr olds I know, slept in the same bed that night and to this day has never gotten Covid.

Thanks again for your writings and sharing your insights; the world needs them. Congrats to you & Kersti on your marriage as well. Take care. Heidi

I recall learning years ago about the benefits of fever and the body's built-in ways of mitigating health threats. Very useful information to have, and it goes against the mainstream medical profession and the ridiculous drug commercials on TV.

I'm glad I found your work here. Understanding ourselves from an evolutionary perspective is an expansive mindset that -- perhaps ironically to the narrow-minded specialists -- gives us a better handle on the details, too.
